Historically, Air Atlanta Icelandic has operated a wide range of aircraft types in the narrowbody and widebody range, both passenger and cargo. Air Atlanta Icelandic currently specializes in Boeing 747-400 aircraft. Other aircraft operated by the company are Boeing 747-300, Airbus 340 and Airbus 330.
Air Atlanta Icelandic employs a multicultural workforce of more than 1,000 employees and contractors, counting more than 50 nationalities. Flight deck and cabin crew form the largest group of the workforce, with maintenance and operations experts making up the majority of ground staff. Head Quarters are based in Iceland, but the company sets up operation bases and maintenance line stations all over the world to support its global flight operation.
Air Atlanta Icelandic holds an Icelandic AOC (air operator certificate) issued by the Icelandic Transport Authority, fulfilling the requirements of JAR OPS 1 / EU OPS and PART M and EU – regulation 2407/92. The company further holds Air Operator approval from the US Department of Transport, Canadian Transportation Agency and Australian Government. The company became IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) qualified in 2011, but the IOSA program is an internationally recognized and accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline.

Air Atlanta Icelandic is a privately-owned company. The current ownership rests with four members of its senior management team, who purchased the company through a management buy-out in December 2007.
Our headquarters are based in Hlidasmari 3, Kopavogur, Iceland, just south of the country's capital of Reykjavik. Approximately 100 employees and 24-hour operation centre are located at the company's headquarters, but all flights are operated out of the customer operational bases worldwide.
